Resource Scarcity Is Becoming a Global Challenge

Resource scarcity is emerging as one of the defining environmental and development challenges of the 21st century. Cleaner transport, energy systems, industrial practices, waste management and stronger air-quality standards can significantly reduce exposure.

A More Sustainable Path Forward

Resource scarcity, ecosystem loss and pollution are deeply connected. Water systems depend on healthy landscapes. Food production depends on biodiversity and reliable freshwater. Public health depends on clean air and safer environments. Economic resilience depends on the stability of all these systems.
