Emerging Poet and Researcher Sudip Chandra Halder Earns Doctoral Degree
Varanasi, July 12: Emerging poet, litterateur, and researcher of ancient Indian literature and culture, Sudip Chandra Halder, has earned the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
On Saturday, July 11, his viva voce (oral) examination was held in the chamber of the Dean of the Faculty of Law. According to the university's established regulations, after successfully completing the viva voce, he was officially declared a “Doctor.” The formal degree certificate will be awarded at the upcoming Convocation ceremony. The subject of his research was “Contemporary Penal Policy.”
Poet and researcher Sudip Chandra Halder has long been actively engaged in literary pursuits alongside social service activities. Through his writings, he has already received several recognitions and honours from various literary and cultural circles both at home and abroad. After earning the doctoral degree, he expressed his sincere gratitude and thanks to all the professors, his research supervisor, and the concerned individuals present on the viva board. Later, he offered sweets to everyone present and sought their blessings.
Present at the viva voce ceremony were Professor Pradeep Kumar Singh, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Dr. Babita Beraiya, Research Supervisor; Professor Jai Prakash Rai; Professor Raju Majhi; Professor Shailendra Kumar Gupta; Professor Vibha Tripathi; and other senior faculty members of the Faculty of Law. The external examiner was Professor Sreemoti Vageshwari Deswal from the University of Delhi.
