“Prem Se Bada Koi Dharam Nahi Hota, Daan Se Bada Koi Karm Nahi Hota” says Asmita Chowdhury Mission Dreams Miss India 2021

On 21st of December 2021, Asmita Chowdhury, a 21-year-old girl hailing from, Manchester of India —Ahmedabad, Gujarat won the Mission Dreams Miss India title. The event was organised at Panvel, Navi Mumbai. Our team exclusively interviewed her after her win at MD Miss India ’21 and she shared insights into her life and her journey.
She also runs an NGO named UDAAN, the NGO helps the people who are needy and are marginalised by the society. During the peak of COVID pandemic Asmita has helped the needy and she have also recognised the efforts of COVID warriors by writing appreciation letters to them and appreciating their work. Here are the excerpts from her interview our team had after Asmita’s win at Mission Dreams Miss India 2021.
Hello Asmita, well before anything I’d like to congratulate you on your win. Everyone is so proud of you and it is so good to have you with us today. Thank you for your time.
Thank you so much! It is so great to be here. Thank you for having me.
How are you feeling after being crowned as 2021 Mission Dreams Miss India?
Honestly, I’m overwhelmed. I thank Mission Dreams for this opportunity and Mission Dream is a platform where I can reach out to a larger audience and share about my work and cause. I’m grateful to them for this.
How did your journey start and what was your motivation, you know that ‘X’ factor, what was it?
Since my childhood I was passionate about doing something for the country. When I say something, I mean I always wanted to represent my country and when I saw other women do this, I felt very happy and this boosted me up. The passion was from the very beginning, the platform Mission Dreams Miss India gave me a platform to express and present myself in front of the wide audience. My family supported me a lot and they still are. My motivation is all the women that are out there.
Asmita when you say ‘all the women out there’ what do you exactly mean?
I believe that women are the most powerful beings in the world. They’re unmatched, their emotional, physical and mental strength is the strongest. I preach and believe that we should left no page unturned and provide everyone, every opportunity to show themselves, to present themselves. It should start from young girls like me or even from girls younger than me. No one should be deprived from opportunities. To bring this change, I’d dedicate myself and raise my voice to uplift, empower, and educate people.
I feel that this would be my greatest honour, in fact this is mine, yours and everyone’s duty to empower and raise the voice of people so that the world can see them and their talent and they can feel the light they’re deprived of.
This is a great thought Asmita! Well Done. Now if I ask whom give you credit for your win or you know what would you say on your win as Mission Dream Miss India 2021?
As I already mentioned that my family and people close to me supported me a lot. The invisible hands behind my success. If I may be allowed to add my father has a transferable job, within few years and sometime even within months we move from one place to another. This permitted to have the exposure and travel across the country, know people and how they live, their joys-sorrows. The interactions really helped me to understand what India is, what the idea of India and know different mindsets of our country. This helped me a lot in this journey and all of this combined aided me very well to express myself at the stage of Mission Dream Miss India 2021.
The next thing I’d like to ask you is what was the ‘winning question and answer’ can you please share it with our audience?
On the final day, the D-Day, 21st of December, I cannot forget that ever. I was asked, ‘What is that one thing that you value the most in your life?’
I replied, “The one thing that I value the most in my life is giving or is to give, for which I started my own NGO UDAAN, under UNICEF. I believe giving is loving and one must always serve the humanity with the language of love; this is what humanity should inculcate in themselves because love and compassion are not luxurious but necessities. After all, Prem Se Bada Koi Dharam Nahi Hota, Daan Se Bada Koi Karm Nahi Hota.”
The last question from you is, you’ve achieved milestones at this young age. What is your message to people out there, especially youngsters?
All I have to say is, it is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves. Never stop dreaming and have patience you’ll have everything in place.
