Anindgita Dasgupta on Drama fame gossip – Going beyond a music video.

Anindgita Dasgupta - a film maker, director, writer in Bollywood, recently released an English music video titled “Drama fame gossip” under the banner “The Aani Entertainment.”

In today’s era of micro drama series, reels  where an episode duration is within 1 or 2 mins, Anindgita takes risks and made the English music video of 06.31 mins duration, which is pathbreaking.

Every music video has its own story line , but Anindgita’s Drama Fame Gossip conveys a narrative depicting a person who simply lives her life and eventually she achieves success but with success comes challenges wherein some people gang up against her, spread rumour about her, make false stories about her for entertainment to get benefits, the narrative portrays the journey of this simple yet wise person who eventually bounces back from the situation and achieve more success and fame and rebuilds her life.

The story is not only inspiring but here is also a lesson, which is to “Ignore those who spread rumours” .

The 6:31 mins music video never feel a drag. Anindgita Dasgupta uses her own images to create a charismatic lead character persona for her music video, which adds charisma.

Anindgita states that acting is not her first love instead she is passionate about building characters, narrate captivating stories from behind the camera through her directorial and writing abilities.

The lyrics composition is hard hitting with each word curated carefully to depict the character and carry the narrative with poise and elegance to narrate a strong story . 

The beats and the melody of the song is catchy while the visual effects, editing forms a big part to set the pace.

The music video has slick cuts , great mixing and transitions that holds the rhythm of the composition.

Anindgita believes that as a film maker, director her success lies in creation of everlasting on-screen character for the audience and if people loves them that is her success.

The lyrics captures this with a vivid and powerful narration which showcases the brilliance of Anindgita’s scripting prowess.

As a filmmaker Anindgita believes that a director’s name reflects hardly 30 seconds on screen, their work, creative efforts, imagination that are reflected through the characters, if characters perform well and audience loves them- a director’s success is there.

But still it is unfortunate that sometimes rumour is spread that directors want  to take mileage and grab the spotlight.

Anindgita says – “I do not know how one can say this, and who believe such non sensical claims! Whether it is in films, web series, or any project it is the characters that are under the spotlight, while the director is only a technical person who makes the project like a creator who builds the story, but it is the actors who live through the character and it is they who are only visible.

If a filmmaker/director’s creative work can emotionally and logically connect with the pulse of the audience then by virtue of mouth publicity their name is spread.”

She further adds “I have heard the rumours about myself after doing a lot of favours for some of my past acquaintances, that ‘I am fame hungry and want to hog the limelight and for that I allegedly sabotage my actors’ characters – the same actors who I gave opportunity in my project to work’ such rumours are completely untrue as these are said behind my back in hushed whispers behind closed doors as these actors do not possess the courage to speak out in public as they very well know that the rumours spread by them are false and non sensical!

It is then I decided to introduce myself as lead character, so that the rumours become true. I do not need to justify to such unworthy people about my work or my intention. Those people will believe what benefits them, not the truth. Moreover, if I acted in my own project then it benefits the project from various aspect, it being cost effective, nobody can halt, manipulate, disrespect my project, put non sensical allegations on me, I do not have to tolerate unnecessary attitude from ungrateful actors after the project is completed. It is better to take risk on myself rather than others though I know a lot of good cooperative actor, actress who are good and friendly.”

Anindgita is working on several fronts like international talk shows, web series, feature film in Indian and international fronts for major platforms which ‘with time let it reveal on its own’ and on this note we sign off wishing her good luck for her projects and creative endeavours.
